Words in Progress (WIP)
is a writers' group created in 1998. It meets monthly in Elkins Park Pennsylvania
to critique member's creative work ranging from
flash fiction to novel excerpts, from article writing to memoirs. Members have
been published in both digital and print media including major US newspapers,
literary journals, genre magazines and books. After critiquing work members
suggest possible places to submit, etc.
We
are looking for creative people in the Philadelphia area to share their writing
and publishing experiences with our talented group. As a member our general requirement is that you must
be seeking publication and not solely writing for yourself. Having been
published is NOT a requirement, but it should to be a goal.
All genres wanted (I
write science fiction, fantasy, and mystery).
If
you are interested in joining please contact me through the comments section of
this post.
Does the Words in Progress group still exist? I am interested and I actually live in Elkins Park. Thanks in advance for your help.
ReplyDeleteYes WIP still exists. We are a tough bunch.
ReplyDeleteHi David, I'd like more information about your group. Is there another way to contact you so that I can ask some questions?
ReplyDeleteHi RS McCoy. Are you in the Philadelphia area?
DeleteIf you are considering adding new members, I live in the area and am interested in participating!
ReplyDeleteWe are always interested in new members. Are you near Elkins Park (suburb of Philly)?
DeleteI might be interested in joining. I live in Paoli, so a bit of a schlep, but certainly doable depending on frequency of meetings. Please LMK next steps.
ReplyDeleteHi, Jeanette,
DeleteWe meet (although lately there have been gaps) monthly. Our next gathering is in March in Elkins Park. What type of writing excites you?
